Montserrat Prous
Montserrat Prous
Biography
Montserrat Prous, a prolific Catalan actress between the 1960s and 1980s, appeared in a wide variety of film genres throughout her career, with horror being one of her most common fields of activity. Prous became one of the muses of filmmakers such as Jesús Franco, with whom she worked on films now considered cult classics, such as The Sinister Eyes of Dr. Orloff (1973) and A Grave Silence (1972). In the 1990s, Prous left the film industry and did not appear in front of a camera again until Javier Pueyo from Mallorca decided to make a documentary about her. The director himself points out that he is a fan of Jesús Franco's films and that "his period with Montserrat is undoubtedly one of my favorites in his extensive filmography. I think she is a versatile actress who knew how to shine not only in horror, but also in comedies, thrillers, and musical theater." For Pueyo, the fact that she accepted the proposal is "a real honor."
