Overview
Frank Dickens was an errant son of the great author, Charles. In the eyes of his despairing father he was a youth of little promise, and was effectively banished to serve as a police officer at a post in Bengal. Upon returning to England after his father's death, Frank's sisters urged him to join with the fledgling North-West Mounted Police in Canada. In his fact-based novel Lesser Expectations, Vic Parsons explores the relationship between a famous father and a less-talented child, set against the events of a tumultuous period in the history of Canada's West.
