The papers consist of one letter written by Colonel John Armstrong, Sr. during the French and Indian War. On 6 June 1758, Armstrong wrote from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to Governor William Denny of Pennsylvania regarding troops needing more supplies, problems with billeting troops, and a recommended promotion. A transcript and two photocopies of the letter are included.
