Overview
The Illinois Society of Professional Engineers (ISPE), established in 1886, is a professional association representing the interests of over 3,000 engineers from all fields of practice. ISPE, headquartered in Springfield, includes among its membership: licensed professional engineers, licensed structural engineers, licensed land surveyors, engineer interns, graduate engineers and engineering students. ISPE devotes hundreds of hours in giving testimony before legislative committees and governmental rule-making agencies on a vast array of subjects dealing with such areas as construction, environment, licensing, public health, and transportation. It also works closely with Illinois engineering schools to promote academic achievement and licensing.
