Overview
Charles Strouse and Lee Adams, who wrote the music and lyrics to such other musical hits as "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Applause" created the score to this bright, newly published musical, "All American." "Once Upon a Time" from this musical is perhaps one of the most beautiful songs in all of modern musical comedy. The book to this musical was especially adapted by June Walker Rogers from writing by the celebrated author-movie producer-comedian Mel Brooks.
