"Where the Backshooter Waits" is set in the town of Castle Rock, where Stuart Dawson has a confrontation with his brother Matt. For some time now Matt has been gambling away all the profits from their ranch. Stuart cuts Matt off, stating he won't pay another gambling debt. So when Stuart is ambushed on the range, but only grazed, he believes Matt was the one who made the attempt. Stuart rides into town only to find that Matt is already in jail, accused of murder and robbery. Is it a conspiracy in which both the Dawson brothers are the victims?
