Overview
"Here are two short novels by Lewis B. Patten, written at the height of his powers, appearing for the first time in book form. The White Cheyenne is the story of Julien Tremeau, son of mountain man and rancher Charles Tremeau and his Indian wife Red Earth Woman. Charles Tremeau thought his son should know the white world as well as the Indian, and so sent Julien East to school, only for Julien to return to the West, marry Bird Woman, and live with the Cheyennes in Chief Black Kettle's village ... In Gun This Man Down, Matt Hurst is the man. He returns to the town of Granada during a bitterly cold winter because his father and two brothers have been executed. The Hursts had been hated by the ranching community and branded as rustlers. The posse that captured them said the Hursts were caught red-handed with stolen cattle. Only that isn't what really happened, as Matt soon learns"--Page 2 of cover.
